Drafts of two reports to the Junta on the implications for California of the Americans opening the Santa Fé Trail and concluding a treaty with Russia establishing the boundary between Russian and American territory bordering on the Pacific. Bound with the reports is a translation of the American treaty (WA MSS S-754;M5744). A petition by Bartholomew Richards to the Junta proposing an Irish-Mexican colony in upper California, with letters by Lucas Alaman, Juan Guzman, and Tomás Salgado are included (WA MSS S-755;M5744).
